Preventative Care

Preventive dentistry is the practice of caring for one's teeth to keep them healthy. This helps to avoid cavities, gum disease, enamel wear, and more.

Childrens Dentistry

With over 30 years of dental experience, Dr. Gregg Alford DMD has the knowledge to make children comfortable during their dental visits.  Using the latest in comfort and technology, Dr Alford recommends your child seeing the dentist as soon as teeth begin showing.

Composite Fillings

Commonly known as white fillings, composite resin is a filling material designed for aesthetic dental restorations. Formulated to resemble the color of your natural tooth, composite resin is often used for filling dental cavities or for dental bonding front teeth.

Crowns and Bridgework

Both crowns and most bridges are fixed prosthetic devices. Unlike removable devices such as dentures, which you can take out and clean daily, crowns and bridges are cemented onto existing teeth or implants, and can only be removed by a dentist.

Teeth Whitening

Tooth Whitening, also known as dental bleaching, is a common procedure in dentistry to restore or improve the natural color of teeth.

Dentures

A denture is a removable replacement for missing teeth and surrounding tissues. Two types of dentures are available -- complete and partial dentures. Complete dentures are used when all the teeth are missing, while partial dentures are used when some natural teeth remain.

Veneers

A veneer is a thin layer of material placed over a tooth, either to improve the aesthetics of a tooth or to protect the tooth's surface from damage. There are two main types of material used to fabricate a veneer: composite and dental porcelain.

Implant Restorations

Dental implants permanently replace missing teeth. Implants consist of titanium posts, topped with artificial restorations. The posts are surgically placed in the jawbone to function as a tooth “root.” The posts extend from the jawbone through the gums, and are topped with restorations, such as crowns or bridges, that resemble natural teeth both in appearance and function.

Extractions

A dental extraction is the removal of teeth from the mouth. Extractions are performed for a wide variety of reasons, but most commonly to remove teeth which have become unrestorable through tooth decay, periodontal disease or dental trauma; especially when they are associated with toothache.

Crown Lengthening

Crown lengthening is a surgical procedure performed by a dentist to expose a greater amount of tooth structure and is done when a tooth needs to be fixed. Sometimes, not enough of the tooth sticks out above the gum to support a filling or crown.

Oral and Gum Surgery

There are several types of gum surgery that your dentist might recommend if you’ve developed gum disease (also known as periodontal disease). The most common cause of gum disease is when excessive bacteria buildup in your mouth and create excess plaque and your body is unable to fight the infection. Certain factors, however, including medications and chronic illnesses, can make someone more susceptible to gum disease even if he or she follows a thorough oral care routine.

Cerec - One Visit Crowns

A crown is a type of dental restoration which completely caps or encircles a tooth or dental implant and is typically bonded to the tooth using a dental cement. Crowns can be made from many materials, which are usually fabricated using indirect methods. Crowns are often used to improve the strength or appearance of teeth.
